1. Buzzing is a good form of warm up and it is also a great manner in which you can build up your chops with the need for an instrument. Just how you play the instrument, buzz your lips in the same manner. Plus, change the tension of your lips as you do while playing harmonic notes. Do rest for a few minutes while doing this.
2. Continue with the buzzing exercise and start using the mouthpiece after a few sessions but still do not use the horn. Take a short break between this as well.
3. Start off by playing an easy note and sustain that sound for as long as possible. Use a metronome to keep a track of the time for which you are able to sustain the note. Make efforts to increase a few seconds every day.
4. For practicing lip slurs, you must begin with the valves open, then play G to low C, then revert back to G and C, continue this further. Initiate quarter note and gradually raise your speed till you can easily play 16th notes.
